Family photo sessions in the fall are the dreamiest am I right? This is the 6th year in a row that I have had the privilege to photograph this cute family. They will always have a soft spot in my heart as they have stuck with me from the very beginning. I can't thank them enough for all their support over the years. THANK YOU GUYS!!! They trusted me to pick the location, and this spot in Reno has been a favorite of mine for years. It's a goody all year round with gorgeous tree blossoms in the spring, wild flowers in the summer, and these colorful willow trees in the fall.
Last fall when I received a phone call about a beauty and the beast themed wedding, I remember thinking "oh my gosh I really hope this couple picks me to be their photographer!". Getting to be with Jeff and Katie on their wedding day was AMAZING. The attention to detail that Quality Event Design put into coordinating and decorating the reception was right out of a Disney storybook. I absolutely loved getting to be part of this special day and wish nothing but a wonderful life to these three (can't forget about Luke!) in the years to come. The wedding took take place at one of my favorite northern California venues, the Corner Barn in Graeagle. Since the couple chose not to do a first look (where they see each other prior to the ceremony) the photo of the groom, and the bride's son embraced in a tearful hug as they both watched her walk down the aisle is hands down one of my all time favorite photos ever
Sharing a few favorites from Michelle and Annie's photo session. Annie contacted me over the summer looking for updated head shots for her and her new business partner. Annie is a family physician from the Bay Area and Michelle has co-founded multiple small business start ups from Salt Lake area. Their most recent venture is Village Baby, it takes a village! Where they share information and inspiration for the journey of parenthood. With their newest blog post sharing 10 thing you don't need on a baby registry. These amazing and accomplished women are both moms of 3. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know them and all about their business. They wanted photos to show their fun but professional side, and also images highlighting their friendship. They were staying in Glenbrook (Lake Tahoe, NV) so we just walked out their front door and found some great back drops. As always, thank you for checking out the blog and viewing my work!
Jonah and Sheli were married on August 17th, 2019 in the Reno Nevada LDS temple. They both have siblings currently serving missions for the church, and therefore weren't able to attend the wedding. So they had life size poster cut outs of each sibling that we included in the photos! Sheli's sister was given special permission to face time the couple once they exited the temple. You'll see the couple holding a phone in one of the images below! Technology is a beautiful thing. One of my favorite things from their reception was the homemade ice cream sandwich bar, which was a big hit. I love that idea! Also at the reception, instead of a standard guestbook, they had Jenga blocks out for people to leave comments, well wishes, date night suggestions, etc. This generation has gotten so creative. I also loved how the bride separated her bridal party into different colors. Her family, his family, and friends. The couple ended the night with bang as their loved
Featuring a few of my favorite highlights from Manny and Bekah's summer wedding. This wedding took place at a private estate on the charming west side of Carson City Nevada. I loved the different shades of green this couple decided on for their accent colors and the simplicity of all the floral's which included baby's breath and silver dollar eucalyptus. This was my first wedding of the 2019 summer and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. The bride's grandfather performed the ceremony and gave some lovely advice about overcoming trials in marriage and love, acceptance, and forgiveness. The groom shared his vows in English while the bride shared her vows in Spanish. It was a very tender and heartwarming moment for both families. I want to thank this sweet couple for being so kind and creating an effortless day for everyone and a huge thanks to the Brady family! Reno newborn photographer. Reno Photographer. Lake Tahoe photographer. A few months back I photographed my first ever maternity milk bath session. Well now that little guy is here safe and sound. Since I started focusing my time mostly on wedding, engagement, and family sessions, I have not photographed newborn sessions lately. Also after trying to grow our family for 5 years straight with zero success, being around these precious little newborns was a tad heart breaking for me. As they say "time heals all wounds" I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Especially since I have a handful of newborn sessions on calendar for 2019. After some time off, I had forgotten just how tricky these newborn photo sessions can be. Therefore I thought I'd share 5 tips I've learned over the years with photographing newborns, and hope it might help any of you just starting out! Sara's tips for a successful newborn photo session. Tip#1 Timing. I try to schedule my newborn photo sessions between day
I am super excited to share images from Miles and Madison's spring wedding at Idlewild Park in downtown Reno Nevada. I haven't had the opportunity to photograph weddings for people I personally know, until now! I've known Miles (the groom) and his family for over 9 years. So when they hired me last fall to be their wedding photographer, I was both honored and slightly nervous! I was so happy when I heard that Miles had found his person in life, and once I had the opportunity to talk on the phone with Madison, I knew they were going to be such a fun couple to work with and all my nerves went away. They are absolutely darling together and so in love, as you can tell from their photos. Madison and her bridal party got ready at the Silver Legacy Hotel in downtown Reno. Her mom and sister assisted with her getting dressed. I loved the moment when Madison's sister offered to put on her shoes. You really are a
When I first got the phone call to photograph this wedding, I instantly loved that the bride and I shared the same name! (Sara without an H)! And the grooms name is so close to my last name, Brigham/Bingham, that's cool right?! I just love weddings at the Reno Temple. There's a special simplicity to it. The ceremony in the temple is not allowed to be photographed due to sacred religious reasons and their reception was held in Utah, so my job was to photograph them exiting the temple, celebrated by family and close friends, and then photograph their individual portraits. It was a perfect warm and sunny day in April here in northern Nevada. Spring and Fall weddings are secretly my favorite. It's not too hot or too cold. The weather is simply perfect. Also Reno really does have some fantastically beautiful spring blossoms around town, but unfortunately we didn't get much of that is these photos since it was still a little to early in April. Something special I
This mama called to schedule her maternity photo session months ago. She expressed her desire for the traditional maternity family photos but then asked about a milk bath option. I've seen and heard about milk bath maternity shoots for 2 years now, but have never had the opportunity to photograph one. We started with an outdoor location, to capture the traditional family photo pictures, then moved inside for the milk bath part. Can I tell you I LOVED it!! I totally understand now why milk bath photography has become so popular. The focus isn't on the location, outfit or props. Instead, we just focused on the beautiful mom-to-be embracing the end of her pregnancy in an intimate environment. She was so relaxed and calm throughout the entire shoot. And did you know that milk actually helps exfoliate and clean the skin? I totally wanted my own milk bath afterwards! Thank you Kayla for pushing me out of my comfort zone by asking me to do something I had never done before. I
I am totally obsessed with Jeff and Katie's engagement photos! Did you know I dream of winter wonderland engagement sessions all year long?! Winter here in Lake Tahoe is simply magical. When I first met with this couple last fall, they told me they wanted to have a winter engagement shoot. With the second half of their photos to be themed. The bride mentioned she was having a cloak made and that her wedding florist/ coordinator (Quality Event Design) was going to do a little something. She tossed around ideas of candles and possibly even a red rose in a glass vase, like in Beauty and the Beast. I thought "Oh how fun! It's going to be beautiful". Fast forward 4 months and I show up to photograph. We started with fun and casual engagement poses and looks. Then Chrissy (owner of QED) and her team showed up. You guys....... I cried inside! The themed photos speak for themselves, so be sure to scroll all the way down. Also, I am
