I am super excited to share images from Miles and Madison’s spring wedding at Idlewild Park in downtown Reno Nevada. I haven’t had the opportunity to photograph weddings for people I personally know, until now! I’ve known Miles (the groom) and his family for over 9 years. So when they hired me last fall to be their wedding photographer, I was both honored and slightly nervous! I was so happy when I heard that Miles had found his person in life, and once I had the opportunity to talk on the phone with Madison, I knew they were going to be such a fun couple to work with and all my nerves went away. They are absolutely darling together and so in love, as you can tell from their photos.

Madison and her bridal party got ready at the Silver Legacy Hotel in downtown Reno. Her mom and sister assisted with her getting dressed. I loved the moment when Madison’s sister offered to put on her shoes. You really are a princess on your wedding day. After getting ready they all squeezed into the elevator from the 23rd floor and headed straight to the rose garden at Idlewild Park.

It’s here the groom was waiting to see his bride for the first time. With his eyes tightly shut, the bride approached from behind. The tears started flowing and even I couldn’t hold them abck. They hugged and kissed and wiped away their tears with Starbucks napkins, since of course neither of us had thought to bring any tissues! Their first look photos are some of my very favorite I’ve ever taken. Even though the roses in the rose garden hadn’t quite started blooming yet, this is a really unique and beautiful place. At one point during their portrait session, one of the flower girls was off in the distance watching them and holding up her hands in the shape of a heart! Thank goodness for zoom lenses or I would have missed that moment.

One of my favorite memories from the wedding was the M&M table. Since their names both start with the letter M, they had every different kind of M&M candies you could think of with sign saying to think of them every time you eat the candy. As a matter of fact, I had some peanut M&M’s today and guess what, it totally reminded me of them and that I needed to finish and post their blog!!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to the Bean Family and to Miles and Madison for allowing me the pleasure of photographing their wedding day. Spring weather in Northern Nevada is always back and forth. Their wedding day was definitely a mixture of all 4 seasons! We had wind, rain, sun, and off/on clouds. But everyone handled it like a champ. They were kind and patient with me throughout the day. Thank you!! I hope you love and cherish these photos always. If you’d like to hear Miles and Madison’s love story keep reading! Be sure to scroll through to the end to see all their images and wedding vendor list. Thank you!

“We met the night of April 1, 2017, at our high school senior prom in Carson city, Nevada. We were introduced by a mutual friend and immediately hit it off. The next day I got Madison’s phone number from our friend and we began talking. At the time, she was at Disneyland with her family so we didn’t get to meet and have a conversation in person outside of prom until a week after but we texted every second of the day while she was gone. We started hanging out and became best friends right away. We spent almost every waking minute together, especially after graduation when there was more free time. I left for college at BYU Idaho in September but we maintained our friendship throughout the semester despite being apart. Madison was already loved by my family and they were constantly dropping hints about my needing to start a relationship with her. She came up to Nampa, Idaho with my family to visit me for Thanksgiving at my aunt’s house and I realized how much she meant to me. After the end of the semester, I decided to return home to Carson city and continue working while going to WNC. Madison and I finally started dating. Her grandfather experienced medical complications and wanted to move back to his home Vincennes, Indiana. Madison and I decided to move out to the Midwest on May 21, 2018, along with her family, to care for her grandparents, find work, and start going to school. After a short stretch of time in Indiana, I decided to start looking at rings! Once I  picked out a ring, I had to pick a time to propose. On July 23, which was coincidentally Madison’s Birthday, we were driving into town in the evening and Inspiration struck me and out of nowhere I decided to pull off to the side of a country road, with a gorgeous sunset and cornfield in the background (In true Midwest fashion) and asked, Madison to get out of the car with me, got down on one knee, and asked her to be my wife.“ -Miles Bean
